While 12 August 1883 marks the day the last Quagga died in an Amsterdam zoo, 12 August 2018 – 135 years later – is a day for celebration! Our latest Quagga foal “Rachel” was born and is in excellent health. Rachel is a welcome addition to the Quagga Project and a valuable contribution to growing numbers of Rau Quagga. Rachel is pictured here with her mother, Sonja, at the Elandsberg Nature Reserve at Bartholomeus Klip. Come and say hello to Rachel any time, and why not stay for lunch or spend the night at our exclusive country house or our family-friendly self-catering farm cottage ( kindly make an appointment at firstname.lastname@example.org ) or read more about the official Quagga Project here
