In celebration of a good olive harvest, twin Swartland towns Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West host the popular annual Riebeek Valley Olive Festival, about 20 minutes' drive from BK. Experience an abundance of local olives, people, wine, craft beer and good food.

Guests are welcome (pre-booking essential) to come and enjoy the morning with us visiting the Buffalo Breeding Project and the Quagga Breeding Programme, and tracking the rare geometric tortoise in our wonderful 10 000 acre private nature reserve, escorted by our qualified guides in an open game-viewing vehicle. Guests can see antelope species unique to the Cape, such as bontebok and Cape mountain zebra, as well as many others such as eland, springbuck and black wildebeest, and numerous indigenous plants, birds and animals. In addition to nature drives, the kitchen of Bartholomeus Klip is renowned for serving world class cuisine and is open to serve a variety of meals when visiting the farm. Rates are per person and all packages are per subject to availability, and booking is required two days in advance.
